The most persuasive way to dress around craft is to give shape room to speak. Start with a jacket that stands slightly away from the torso, then let a longer layer interrupt its hem. The effect should feel deliberate without becoming ceremonial: clothes with presence, worn with ease. Chalk, tobacco, ink and deep brown make useful starting points, especially when the interest comes from construction rather than decoration. Resist the urge to make every element a statement; one strong outline can carry the whole look.
Build a longer line
A long tunic changes the rhythm of familiar tailoring. Over wide trousers, it creates an uninterrupted vertical line; beneath a cropped jacket, it introduces a useful break in proportion. A wrap skirt offers another route to the same generous silhouette, particularly when its fastening stays discreet and its overlap moves freely. These are pieces to choose for their balance on the body, not their hanger appeal. Check shoulder placement, sleeve width and hem length together, and leave enough space to sit, walk and layer comfortably.
Let texture do the talking
A craft-minded wardrobe does not need a catalogue of embellishments. A dry cotton surface against smoother leather can be enough; so can a visible seam beside an otherwise quiet panel. When shopping, examine the details that photographs tend to flatten: the weight of an edge, the neatness of a facing, the way a fastening sits. Visible stitching is a design choice, not proof of handwork. Ask about materials and production rather than assuming a textured finish tells the whole story, and favour pieces that remain convincing close up.
Ground the volume
Generous clothes need accessories with enough visual weight to hold their own. A broad-strap sandal keeps an ankle-length silhouette open, while a square-toe loafer gives flowing trousers a firmer finish. Choose a tote with a clean profile rather than competing hardware, or bring the scale down with a small crossbody bag worn close. Above the shoulders, a softly structured cap can complete the line. Jewellery works best as punctuation here: one substantial cuff or pendant, not a collection of equally insistent accents fighting for attention.
Shop with a clear brief
Use the fourteen entries below as specific buying briefs, not authenticated DUKUN product names or confirmed runway credits. The first four identify the wardrobe’s proposed anchor pieces; their hero labels do not establish that they appeared on the runway. Prices are illustrative USD estimates, not advertised retail prices. DUKUN’s current inventory and official online shop have not been verified, so website fields are left blank. Before ordering, confirm availability, fabric composition, sizing, delivery terms and any made-to-order conditions directly with the label or an authorised stockist.
